Bacon goes to a beer fest

June 28, 2011 by

Oh Bacon… We’ve missed you!  Just where have you been, you crazy meat?  According to Bacon, he was kidnapped by a rough gang of chickens who tried to use him to make Pasta Carbonera.  He was trapped with Parsley, Fettuccine and foul mouthed wedge of Parmesan.   I don’t know how he escaped and, needless to say, he didn’t take pictures.  Poor Bacon.  Getting kidnapped constantly!

So, to get his mind off the constant threat to his life, I decided to take Bacon with me to the Loudoun County Beer Fest.  It was a little more crowded than I anticipated.

I got tickets from Living Social.  Living Social gives discounted tickets to different events in the area.  We’ve used them a few times and it’s always been worth it.  Eagerly, Bacon handed over his voucher in exchange for his beer tasting glass and beer tickets!  He got to taste four beers.

Most of the lines were too long and busy for me to take a picture of Bacon.  But guess who was there serving beer?  Our favorite person, Bill Madden from Mad Fox!  He took time out from doing vitally important business on his phone to shove the server aside and help Bacon pour himself a taster of the lovely Saison.  Go to Mad Fox and drink it.  It’s good.

Bacon was a happy meat, all chillin with his Mad Fox Saison.  He drank away his recent troubles and slowly forgot about his recent past.

Bacon is a lightweight.  I guess after those tasters, he was a little tipsy and decided to head off to party….

Bacon!  You’re greasing up the moon bounce and making it a slip hazard for the kids!  And… that kid is trying to kidnap you! Run away!  Run away!

But Ariel protected her Bacon, using her mad ninja skillz to rescue him.  She was horrified to find that the heat of the day was turning Bacon a little crispy so she hurried him to the mister tent where he could cool off and floppify himself again.  Ariel does not like Crispy Bacon.

Bacon was all feeling happy and hyper and bouncing around as we headed back to the car.  These people stopped and cried out “What is that?” and Bacon innocently hopped closer to exclaim “I’m BACON!” But before he could say a word, the couple grabbed him and tried to drive off with him!  omg, poor Bacon.  His life is full of danger.  He managed to grease his way out of the man’s grasp and hopped hurriedly back to the car, attempting to scream “I’m NOT Bacon!”

All in all, Bacon had a blast.  He kind of wishes people would quit trying to kidnap him, though.  He promises to have some more adventures.  Maybe he’ll take a karate class.

Oh, Bacon! How we missed you. I’m sorry about the constant kidnapping attempts, but you must take it as a compliment. And never fear. Your family shall always protect you from those who would do you harm and from the sun that would do you crisp.

    Welcome back, buddy!

Bacon is thrilled to be back! He’s not too concerned about the kidnapping, as long as no one eats him. He figures not having limbs is bad enough.. but if any more of him is eaten, he won’t have anything left!

Bacon and beer, perfect harmony… It was good to see bacon again, I have to admit, I have missed him a bit. I heard that bacon is planning a trip to FL next week and is supposed to crash a rockin’ pre-4th of July party this weekend. Hopefully he stays far enough away from the fireworks that he doesnt get “fried”. :-)

I think Bacon would make some lovely Bacon streaked fireworks. And they would smell so yummy!

Ah, poor Bacon. It’s easy to get burned when you’re a greasy meat.

I’m glad Bacon got to enjoy some beer.

I think Karate would be a great idea.

Couldn’t you just imagine Bacon karate chopping the next person to mess with him? heehee. It cracks me up!

Bacon! Thank goodness you’re okay! I really think you should consider hiring a baconguard. Maybe you could get Broccoli? Everyone stays away from Broccoli!!

oooo.. Broccoli would be a great idea! Bacon thought about hiring Zombie… but he moves to slow. Then he thought about Ice Cream. But everyone loves Ice Cream… Hmmm.. Broccoli..as long as the broccoli didn’t have butter or cheese sauce on him, I think he might make a good bodyguard. heh

I see commercials for Living Social all the time. Now that I know it’s legit, thanks to Bacon, I think I will sign up for that too!

Looks like fun was had by all. And, let’s hope Bacon doesn’t get kidnapped again!!

You should totally check it out. We got Mad Fox dinner tickets once through them. We also had an event get canceled on us after buying tix through Living Social and they promptly refunded our money. It’s a little annoying to get the emails all the time, but the deals ARE really good, so I put up with the emails daily because one will invariably catch my eye.

I always heard you could get out of trouble by greasing some palms…

ps: Bert & Ernie love paper towel and TP rolls, too! They can chew through one in about 10 minutes!

That Bacon, he’s a slippery meat. He always finds a way out of those situations. Maybe Bacon should write Bacon adventures.

Oh- I gave my gerbils (Cuddles, Racer and Matthias) some nut butter on their cage. Matthias never touched it (she’s in a separate tank) but Cuddles and Racer ate theirs but when we weren’t looking! I was so disappointed because Bert and Ernie looked SO FREAKIN CUTE doing it. I’ll have to try again.
